Crossmark Policy

Commitment to the Integrity of the Scholarly Record

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

ElectroSenses – Journal of Bioelectromagnetics, Environmental & Functional Medicine is committed to maintaining the integrity and permanence of the scholarly record. To support this commitment, the journal participates in the Crossmark service provided by Crossref.

Crossmark provides readers with a standardized way to verify the current status of a published article and to access additional publication record information.

How Crossmark Works

Articles published in ElectroSenses include a Crossmark button (“Check for updates”) on the article webpage and in the article PDF.

By clicking the Crossmark button, readers can determine whether the document is:

  • current
  • corrected
  • updated
  • retracted
  • withdrawn

The Crossmark record also provides key publication information such as:

  • publication dates
  • update history
  • licensing information
  • peer review status (where applicable)
  • links to corrections or related notices

Updates to Published Articles

ElectroSenses recognizes that, in some cases, updates to published articles may be necessary. The journal follows established publishing standards for post-publication updates.

Possible update types include:

  • Corrections / Errata – for minor errors that do not affect the scientific conclusions
  • Corrigenda – author-initiated corrections
  • Retractions – for articles containing serious errors or ethical issues
  • Expressions of concern – when potential issues require investigation
  • Withdrawals – in exceptional circumstances prior to formal publication

When updates occur, they are clearly documented and linked to the original article. The Crossmark record will reflect the current status of the article.

Version of Record

The Version of Record (VoR) published by ElectroSenses is considered the definitive and citable version of the article.

If changes are required after publication, the journal will issue a formal update notice rather than altering the original article without documentation.

Additional Publication Information

Crossmark records for ElectroSenses articles may also include additional metadata, such as:

  • funding information
  • data availability statements
  • licensing information
  • ORCID identifiers
  • publication history

These details help ensure transparency and reproducibility in scholarly communication.

Reader Guidance
