Original Research

Original Research articles present novel scientific findings derived from experimental studies, clinical investigations, observational studies, or theoretical analyses.

These manuscripts should report original data supported by appropriate study design, methodology, and statistical analysis.

Examples include:

  • laboratory-based mechanistic research
  • investigations of biological effects of electromagnetic fields
  • environmental exposure studies
  • translational research linking molecular findings to clinical outcomes

Structure

Manuscripts should follow the standard scientific structure:

  • Abstract
  • Introduction
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusions
  • References

Length and limits

  • Word limit: up to 5,000 words
  • Abstract: up to 300 words
  • Figures/Tables: up to 8
  • References: no strict limit

Word limits apply to the main manuscript text and usually exclude references, tables, and figure legends.

Clinical Studies

Clinical Studies include observational or interventional investigations involving human participants, including prospective or retrospective research.

These studies may examine:

  • environmental exposures and health outcomes
  • clinical manifestations related to environmental or electromagnetic factors
  • diagnostic or therapeutic interventions
  • physiological, biochemical, or genetic markers in human populations

Ethical requirements

Manuscripts must include:

  • ethics committee or institutional review board approval
  • confirmation of informed consent where applicable
  • clinical trial registration number where relevant

Structure

Clinical Studies follow the same structure as Original Research articles.

Length and limits

  • Word limit: up to 5,000 words
  • Abstract: up to 300 words
  • Figures/Tables: up to 8
  • References: no strict limit

Word limits apply to the main manuscript text and usually exclude references, tables, and figure legends.

Short Communications

Short Communications report concise scientific findings of immediate interest that may not require the length or depth of a full research article.

These submissions are appropriate for:

  • preliminary or pilot studies
  • focused experimental observations
  • early-stage findings that may stimulate further investigation
  • limited but important datasets

Although shorter in length, Short Communications must still demonstrate scientific rigor and methodological transparency.

Structure

  • Abstract
  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • References

Length and limits

  • Word limit: up to 2,500 words
  • Abstract: up to 200 words
  • Figures/Tables: up to 4
  • References: up to 30

Word limits apply to the main manuscript text and usually exclude references, tables, and figure legends.

Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses

Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses synthesize and critically evaluate existing scientific literature using structured and transparent methodology.

Authors must clearly describe:

  • databases searched
  • search strategies and keywords
  • inclusion and exclusion criteria
  • quality assessment of included studies
  • statistical methods used for data synthesis

Authors are encouraged to follow reporting standards such as PRISMA.

Length and limits

  • Word limit: up to 7,000 words
  • Abstract: up to 300 words
  • Figures/Tables: up to 10
  • References: no strict limit

Word limits apply to the main manuscript text and usually exclude references, tables, and figure legends.

Narrative Reviews

Narrative Reviews provide scholarly and critical overviews of research developments within a specific scientific field relevant to the journal.

These articles may summarize emerging scientific concepts, theoretical frameworks, or interdisciplinary developments across environmental medicine, bioelectromagnetics, and related fields.

Narrative reviews should present a balanced, evidence-based analysis of the literature.

Length and limits

  • Word limit: up to 6,000 words
  • Abstract: up to 300 words
  • Figures/Tables: up to 8
  • References: flexible

Word limits apply to the main manuscript text and usually exclude references, tables, and figure legends.

Methodological / Technical Papers

Methodological or Technical Papers describe new experimental methods, analytical techniques, measurement approaches, or diagnostic tools.

These articles should include:

  • detailed description of the methodology
  • validation or benchmarking of the method
  • discussion of potential applications and limitations

Length and limits

  • Word limit: up to 4,000 words
  • Abstract: up to 250 words
  • Figures/Tables: up to 6
  • References: up to 40

Case Reports & Case Series

Case Reports and Case Series describe individual clinical cases or small groups of patients presenting novel or unusual observations.

These reports may include:

  • unusual clinical manifestations associated with environmental exposures
  • unexpected physiological responses to environmental or electromagnetic factors
