The Managing Editor of ElectroSenses – Journal of Bioelectromagnetics, Environmental & Functional Medicine is responsible for the administrative, operational, and workflow management of the journal, supporting the editorial process while maintaining clear separation from scientific decision-making.
The Managing Editor ensures that submissions progress efficiently through the editorial system in accordance with the journal’s policies and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
The Managing Editor is responsible for:
- Coordinating manuscript submissions and tracking progress through the editorial and peer-review workflow
- Ensuring that manuscripts comply with the journal’s submission guidelines, formatting requirements, and policy statements prior to review
- Supporting communication between authors, reviewers, Associate Editors, and the Editor-in-Chief
- Managing deadlines and facilitating timely peer review and editorial decisions
- Overseeing production workflows following acceptance, including copyediting, typesetting, metadata preparation, and publication scheduling
- Ensuring consistency and accuracy of published content, including author information, affiliations, and disclosures
- Maintaining records related to peer review, editorial decisions, and policy compliance
- Supporting journal indexing, archiving, and technical requirements in collaboration with the publisher
Editorial and Scientific Independence
The Managing Editor does not make scientific or editorial acceptance decisions and does not influence the outcome of peer review.
All decisions regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection are made by the Editor-in-Chief or designated Associate Editors, based on independent peer review.
Ethical and Confidentiality Responsibilities
The Managing Editor is responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities
- Ensuring that disclosures, ethics statements, and required documentation are complete
- Referring any ethical concerns or irregularities to the Editor-in-Chief for assessment
Conflict of Interest
The Managing Editor must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling submissions where such conflicts exist.
Collaboration and Reporting
The Managing Editor works in close coordination with the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors to ensure efficient journal operations and adherence to editorial policies.
