The Editor-in-Chief of ElectroSenses – Journal of Bioelectromagnetics, Environmental & Functional Medicine holds primary responsibility for the journal’s scientific integrity, editorial independence, and overall editorial direction.
The Editor-in-Chief oversees the editorial process to ensure that all published content meets high standards of scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical conduct, and transparency.
Key Responsibilities
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for:
- Defining and safeguarding the journal’s editorial scope and standards in accordance with its aims and policies
- Ensuring that all submissions are evaluated through a fair, independent, and rigorous peer-review process
- Appointing, guiding, and collaborating with Associate Editors and members of the Editorial Board
- Making or overseeing final editorial decisions on manuscript acceptance or rejection, based on peer-review reports and editorial assessment
- Ensuring compliance with the journal’s publication ethics, conflict-of-interest, and research ethics policies
- Overseeing the handling of editor-authored submissions under strictly independent editorial procedures
- Addressing ethical concerns, appeals, corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern in accordance with COPE guidelines
- Representing the journal in interactions with authors, reviewers, indexing services, and scholarly organizations
- Supporting continuous improvement of editorial policies and practices in line with evolving standards in scholarly publishing
Editorial Independence
The Editor-in-Chief operates with full editorial independence. Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit, methodological soundness, ethical considerations, and relevance to the journal’s scope, and are not influenced by commercial interests, publication fees, sponsorship, or institutional affiliations.
Conflict of Interest Management
The Editor-in-Chief is required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and to recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist. Submissions authored or co-authored by the Editor-in-Chief are managed by an independent handling editor, in accordance with the journal’s peer-review and ethics policies.
Accountability and Transparency
The Editor-in-Chief is accountable for maintaining the integrity of the scientific record and for ensuring transparent editorial governance. The role includes oversight of editorial processes, reviewer conduct, and adherence to ethical standards.
